BLATCHINGTON ROAD FLOORING LTD.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
FURNITURE: To facilitate fitting, areas should be as clear as they can be. If this is not possible, then we ask that all small and/or fragile items, electrical and valuable items be removed from the room prior to fitting. All TV’s Hi-fi’s and Computers must be disconnected and removed prior to installation. For a small fee we can help facilitate moving larger items, although no responsibility will be taken by ourselves or the Fitters in moving flat-pack furniture, due to the nature of their construction.
KITCHENS: If flooring is required to go underneath washing machines, dishwashers and general plumbed-in items these must be unplumbed and removed from the area prior to fitting. If they are not, we will only fit under the front legs. No responsibility will be taken for any resulting damage if they are not unplumbed and/or removed.
DOORS: Any door easing is to be arranged with and payable directly to the Fitters. Please note they use a door trimming device which could result in minor paint damage. No responsibility will be taken for any resulting damage. If you wish, the Fitters will be happy to mark the doors so you can instruct your own independent carpenter in which case the doors should be removed prior to fitting.
PIPES & CABLES: It is the customer’s responsibility to notify the Company or Fitters or any pipes, cables, alarm, telephone or computer wires which could be damaged during fitting. No responsibility can be taken for any damage if we are not advised.
FLOOR PREPARATION: It is not possible to advise of the condition of sub-floors until existing coverings have been removed. Should any remedial work subsequently be required prior to fitting, this can be quoted for and charged in addition to the original quote. (Subject to the Fitters being able to undertake such work).
TAKE UP & DISPOSAL: We will allow for take up and disposal of old carpet, underlay and vinyl floorings but we will NOT take up and/or dispose of laminate, LVT, Karndean or any other such types of flooring. Please be aware that we are happy, after discussing with the customer prior to acceptance of quote and commencement of any work, where possible, to fit over the top of said flooring as this could save you having to have any additional floor preparation work carried out (see above).
FLOORBOARDS: Due to company policy and insurance liability, the Fitters will NOT under any circumstance nail or screw down any floorboards. This must be undertaken by the customer or tradesman instructed by the customer.
FITTING: ALL CHARGES FOR FITTING ARE PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE FITTERS. ANY ISSUES SHOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH THEM DIRECTLY, BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE PREMISES WHEREVER POSSIBLE. IF A RETURN VISIT IS REQUESTED BUT NO ACTION IS NECESSARY, A SMALL FEE MAY BE LEVIED DIRECTLY BY THE FITTERS.
RE-STRETCHING OF CARPET: Should your flooring require stretching once in the first three months after laying, this will be free of charge. Any subsequent visits will incur a minimum charge, payable directly to the Fitters.
PLAIN CARPET: Plain carpet can be subject to shading / pile reversal / pile pressure. This is a characteristic of this type of carpet and cannot be accepted as a complaint. This will not affect the durability of the carpet.
PATTERNED CARPET (TO INCLUDE STRIPES): Due to the nature of these types of carpets, when fitted may show as not being square with skirting boards, doorframes etc due to each individual building. This should be taken into account when choosing your carpet. Each job should be taken on its own merit and discussed with the Fitter at the time of laying wherever possible. Please note it is not always possible to get a pattern or stripe to lay square along multiple walls.
NATURAL FLOORING: Sisal, Seagrass, Coir etc by their very nature contain irregularities and are unstable products subject to shrinking and expansion. Neither of these can be accepted as complaints. This type of flooring requires a double-stick installation. Please ask for further details.
CUPBOARDS & WARDROBES: Whilst we are happy to facilitate in carpeting your cupboards and wardrobes, we ask that you have them clear of hanging items and anything on the floor. Also, if you have utilities in them please make sure they are unplumbed and removed prior to the Fitter commencing your work.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE: TITLE TO THE GOODS OF SALE SHALL NOT PASS TO THE BUYER UNTIL ALL SUMS DUE TO THE SELLER (BLATCHINGTON ROAD FLOORING LTD) HAVE BEEN DISCHARGED. A 50% DEPOSIT WILL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO THE ORDERING OF ANY GOODS. FULL BALANCE MUST BE PAID ON COMPLETION OF FITTING.
